The importance of a ‘white tee, blue jeans’ mascot in idol girl groups?

In idol girl groups, it is essential to have at least one member who is vocally talented as well as a member who is responsible for the group’s visual impressions. Yet there’s one more essential member – the girl who can rock a pair of jeans. At first, this sounds ridiculous. Talent, yes. Overall image, yes. But jeans?
Jung Bo Yoon, Lee Hyori’s famous stylist, brought up the outfit concept on a broadcast show and explained the logistics behind it: “When girl groups are made, they always include at least one member who suits the white tee-jeans outfit.” She believed that jeans emit a different kind of feminine charm when compared to sexy skirts, and would thus be able to attract many different types of fanboys.
So, which members of girl groups are known to pull off jeans?
In SNSD’s case, Yuri is considered the group’s ‘jeans’ representative. While all nine members have enviable bodies, Yuri’s voluptuous figure allows her to seamlessly pull off that sexy look when wearing a pair of plain jeans. Member Sooyoung would also be a good candidate, as she stands to a height of 170cm with her long, lean legs.

After School’s UEE also has this role for her group due to her notorious ‘honey thighs’. With a white tee, UEE can sport a fresh and innocent look – yet she can easily slip into a sexy, provocative look with the usage of smokey eye makeup.
Wonder Girls‘ Sohee, 4minute’s Gayoon, and f(x)’s Krystal were also highlighted for their ability to bring in the fanboys with their ‘jeans and white-tee’ combo.

SNSD chosen as the most influential female advertising models

SNSD was recently picked as the most influential female advertising models.
Marketing service company, Neobab, conducted a poll from September 7th to October 1st, with the question of interest being, “Which female advertising models have the biggest influence on the public?”
Results showed that out of the 751 netizens who participated, 449 (59.7%) voted for SNSD, 219 (29.1%) voted for Lee Hyori, and 104 (13.8%) for Shin Min Ah, placing them first, second, and third respectively.
Neobab representative Shin Jae Gyu explained, “Those responsible for corporate marketing are sensitive to public responses and trends. Consumers want to be like the cute and sexy SNSD stars, which is how they are able to increase the value and sales of the brands they are advertising.”
He continued, “During the first half of 2010, SNSD increased album revenues with their hits ‘Oh!’ and ‘Run Devil Run’. Through them, the public’s awareness for the group heightened, and advertising contracts followed. Companies who used SNSD as their models would have definitely felt the group’s influence.”
The representative went on to say, “The second and third ranking of Lee Hyori and Shin Min Ah are based on ‘mature’ and ’sexy’ factors.” He went on to focus on Lee Hyori, saying that her “best charm is her confidence. Her consistent practicing, good sense of fashion, and overall personal development is receiving a good response from the public.”

What are the strengths of the top 5 K-pop girl groups?

Today, the entertainment industry is overflowing with idol groups that are armed with each of their own strengths and colors, particularly girl groups. With such a huge variety of girl groups blooming in this ‘Girl group Golden Age’, Osen recently ran an article where five of the top representative girl groups of K-pop were examined and compared for each group’s strengths. Amongst the countless cliche girl groups currently on the market, it is these girls who have maintained their own territory with their unique set of charms and separated from the rest of the pack.
SNSD / Girls’ Generation – Good coordination between members, capable of pulling off a variety of styles
With as many as 9 members in the group, the myriad of strengths of SNSD are distributed equally within the group, allowing for their specialty in overall coordination to be accentuated.
The vocally talented Taeyeon and Jessica, the luxurious and feminine visuals of Yoona and Yuri, the consistently skinny Sooyoung, the cute and innocent charms of Seohyun and Tiffany, the fun and cute Sunny, and dancer Hyoyeon – it is these diverse strengths which permit for a greater number of people to match their tastes with the group and pick their biases, making them all the more appealing.
In addition, the group has an excellent ability of adapting easily to numerous concepts and styles, such as the sexy, cute, innocent, lively and fresh images. People also take fun in watching out for that one member who receives a complete makeover for the group’s new concept.
2NE1 -  Individuality, creativity, a powerful hold of the stage
The four member group, consisting of Park Bom, Sandara Park, Minzy and CL, are known to possess individuality that clearly differentiates them from other female idol groups. They also gain their popularity through their ‘aspiring, longing image’, along with their unconventional personalities.
With their powerful music, and doubly powerful stylists, they crossed to the high fashion world wearing unusual outfits directly made by world famous designers. This plants a perception of creativeness for the group. In addition, instead of wowing the crowds with the typical bling-bling, feminine concepts, they showcase very non-girl group-like charisma on stage with the use of their powerful choreography and energy.
KARA – A sense of familiarity, all members of equal beauty
KARA’s strength is that all members are so equally beautiful that one can consider all of them to take the ‘visuals’ role of the group.
The group led by lead vocalist Park Gyuri, Goo Hara, Kang Jiyoung, Han Seung Yeon and Nicole all possess a feminine and mature beauty, making themselves known as a visually appealing group. However, instead of looking so perfect that it’s burdensome, the group holds a sense of familiarity in their attractiveness, which makes it easier for girls their age to relate to them.
Brown Eyed Girls – A sophisticated and defiant concept
When the Brown Eyed Girls (Jea, Narsha, Miryo, Ga-in) stepped foot into the K-pop scene with ‘Your Story’ back in 2006, their original concept focused mainly on their strong, charismatic vocals. However things changed when they released their 3rd album ‘Abracadabra‘. With this they showcased a new, sexy concept, which ultimately was a national jackpot and took them to the next level.
Everything about the ‘arrogant dance’ for ‘Abracadabra’, starting from their outfits, the dance itself, and the performance, showed exactly how important concepts are for girl groups. Furthermore, Narsha’s extravagant change in concept for her solo promotions had also received a great deal of attention.
Wonder Girls  – A group full of effort
After the Wonder Girls (Sunye, Ye Eun, Sohee, Yubin, Hye Lim) advanced into the American market and succeeded, the results they achieved earned them images of a hardworking group. They even honestly revealed to their fans the difficulties and trials they faced during their time overseas, but the portrayal of the group running to reach the top nevertheless created a strong image for idol groups to follow.
The group may not be as strong in the visuals category as SNSD or KARA, but their subtle charms are what have attracted not only Korean fans, but also their fans across the globe as well.

My Version of Without Words....original lyrics

The days just kept passing by
Without you here by my side
Now I just kept missing you
Everyday's not the same without you
Your smile alone can make my day

I hate the way you left me
All that you did was hurt me
I can't forget what you said
That I will always be the one for you
You don't know the pain that i felt

Chorus:
You are breaking my heart even without words
I've always felt the pain even without words
You are crashing my heart with all these things you do
I hope that someday you will see
Oh, even without words I know that you care
Oh, even without words I know that you're there
I'll always be right here waiting for you
Your love has taken over me
There will be no goodbye

I should've known from the start
You wouldn't care for my heart
And now you're saying goodbye
You said you don't want me to cry right now
You said you don't want me to hurt more

Chorus2:
You're tearing me apart even without words
You're searching for my heart even without words
I've always felt your love, you make me feel alive
I hope that you will realize
Oh even without words I know that you care
Oh even without words I know that you're there
I'll always be right here waiting for you
Your love has taken over me
There will be no goodbye

Bridge:
Even without a word you taught me to love
Even without a word you colored my life
Even without a word you look in my eyes
Even without a word you're saying goodbye

The pain won't go away
I know it's here to stay
Until you'll come back in my life

Chorus3:
Even without a word I'm here in the rain
Even without a word I'm filled with the pain
I will be missing you til my hopes will come true
I will be always loving you
There will be no goodbye

Coda:
I am standing in the rain
Letting go of all the pain
You have taught me how to love
Knowing that it's not always happiness
Believe in me, there's no goodbye

Jang Geun Suk, Moon Geun Young In New Drama

This should be interesting.

Moon Geun-young and Jang Geun-suk will both be joining the upcoming romantic comedy by KBS titled "Mary Stayed Out All Night", which is based on a manhwa written by the same creator behind the making of "Full House"'s original manhwa.

In the drama, Moon will play the part of the daughter of an unsuccessful businessman with no romantic experience. Eventually she falls into a love triangle with an indie-rocker (played by Jang) and a perfectionist chaebol (yet to be casted), with entirely different personalities. Moon will be signing up for a contract marriage with Jang Geun Suk's character.

Jang Geun Seok, meanwhile, will play the role of the character Moo Gyeol, who is a member of an independent music band living a free life. His rival in the love triangle is his complete opposite: a perfect type of guy with a good background and prestigious education. For 100 days, Mary will have an “imaginary marriage” with both guys.

This project will be a co-production between Korea’s KBS Media and Japan’s ACC Korea and will be written by In Eun-ah, who also wrote the drama "Goong" and "Love & Marriage".

"Mary Stayed Out All Night" is set to release in October after the Monday-Tuesday Korean drama "Sungkyunkwan Scandal" ends.

I think I can buy this story, how about you? What do you all think of it?
