Moon Geun Young gets married again on ‘Mary Stayed Out All Night’

The ‘Two Geun Couple’ – Jang Geun Suk and Moon Geun Young – revealed their wedding photoshoot for upcoming drama, ‘Mary Stayed Out All Night‘. This is the second wedding pictorial released for this drama; the first was taken with the other male lead, Kim Jae Wook.
For this photoshoot, Jang Geun Suk wore a fashionable yet modern black tux; hilariously, his sullen expression places him as the most reluctant bridegroom we’ve seen yet. Co-star Moon Geun Young was primped into a mini wedding dress with a pink ribbon, and accentuated her fairy-like appearance with a tiny tiara.
After finishing the wedding photoshoot, Jang Geun Suk commented, ‘Today, the unusual Mary is very pretty. Don’t I look handsome too? We had fun filming, so I hope the viewers will enjoy watching the drama.’
Moon Geun Young said, ‘Even though it’s a different design from the last wedding dress, I like both. The hairstyles and atmosphere is also different.’
‘Mary Stayed Out All Night’ will begin airing on November 8th.

SM Entertainment responds to the lip-syncing criticism

SM Entertainment recently expressed their thoughts in regards to the criticism that SNSD have been receiving for their alleged lip-syncing during their concerts in Taiwan.
On October 20th, SM Entertainment stated, “During the most recent concert in Taiwan, SNSD performed and sang over 30 songs live.”
They continued, “There were some songs where they lip-synced due to the strong choreography, but we did this only to emphasize the dancing and to put on a better on-stage performance for the Taiwanese fans to enjoy. We’re saying this again, SNSD danced and sang live to most of their songs for both their Taiwan concerts.”
SM Entertainment added, “And because the Taiwanese fans saw SNSD putting in their best effort, they passionately cheered them on throughout both concerts. SNSD was also aware that this was their first independent concert in Taiwan as well, which is why they put on an even more passionate performance – but to hear controversy over just a few songs in which they lip-synced only to emphasize the dancing is really unfair.”
SNSD held a two-day concert in Taiwan at the Taipei Arena on the 16th and 17th of October, for their first Asia tour concert, called  ‘Into the New World’.

Super Junior’s Heechul appears in California newspaper

Last week we were the first to report about Super Junior member Kim Hee Chul as the top trending topic on popular micro blogging site twitter. Well, the story has picked up some steam across the internet and now a newspaper in California has written about this in the actual print edition.
The newspaper is The San Bernadino County Sun and the article is the AP (Associated Press) release about the Heechul story. You can read the full AP article below:
A popular South Korean singer has become a hit on Twitter, with his fans bombarding the site with postings.
Kim Hee-chul is a key member of the band Super Junior, known for its boyish looks and synchronized dance routines that have earned them heartthrob status across Asia.
His fans declared Monday as “Kim Hee-chul Day” by relentlessly posting Twitter messages on the 27-year-old and drawing a wave of new tweets from curious people with little knowledge of the singer, the Korea Herald newspaper reported Tuesday.
Kim subsequently became one of the site’s top trending topics, leading some to compare him with fellow musical heartthrob Justin Bieber.
Kim has accumulated over 240,000 Twitter followers, much less than the 16-year-old Canadian’s 5.7 million. But for a period of time Monday and Tuesday, he appeared to rule the site’s Twitter Trends.
One tweet from the Philippines on Wednesday on Kim read, “Gosh — I love you!! King of the world.”
Kim’s band gained wider fame in August after a YouTube video clip showing a group of dancing Thai policemen impersonating its members became a pop sensation.
The officers shimmied and swung their hips in the five-minute video spoof of “Sorry Sorry,” a hit song by Super Junior.

Sulli voted as cutest girl group maknae member

In a battle between miss A’s Suzy and f(x)’s Sulli for the title of cutest girl group maknae, Sulli managed to capture the hearts of netizens in a survey held by Star News ,which asked, “Who’s cuter? Girl group maknae battle,” on Style M.
The poll ended on October 15th with a total of 1,093,156 participants. Results revealed that 68% of the netizens voted for Sulli.
Sulli is currently the group maknae, along with Krystal, in f(x), while Suzy is earning the love of fans as miss A’s maknae. Both members represent “cuteness” in their respective groups, an important role in helping the group earn more popularity.
With the rise of girl groups and the emergence of different styles and concepts, many believe that the cute role of the maknaes is the best role of all. Most often, these maknaes hold the most popularity in their groups as well. SNSD’s Seohyun, Wonder GirlsSohee, and KARA’s Kang Ji Young all hold a considerable amount of popularity over their unnies, showing the strength of maknaes.

Which girl groups does B2ST’s Ki Kwang like the most?

A recent confession by B2ST’s Lee Ki Kwang about his interest for girl groups miss A and f(x) has been garnering attention.
During a recording of KBS 2TV’s ‘Happy Birthday‘, Ki Kwang confessed that there are specific girl groups he thinks about every night before he falls asleep.

Ki Kwang added, “I think miss A is the hottest group too…But it’s not only miss A, I like f(x) too”, after which he was made fun of by the male participants at the recording.
This episode of ‘Happy Birthday’ will be aired this coming October 18th.

UEE appears skinnier to netizens these days

After School’s UEE attended a 2010-2011 Hyundai Mobis Pro Basketball game on October 16th, and she showed off her shooting skills and tried to score some baskets.
That wasn’t the story of the event though, as netizens saw these photos and complimented her new body,
“She looks so pretty. My ideal type.”
“She lost weight on her face.”
“She seems to have slimmed down.”
“Why do girls not like her? I’m a girl, but I like her.”
Netizens have attacked her numerous times about her “belly fat”, so I guess this is good thing for her, but she looks the same to me…

Eye makeup for male idols becoming more popular

Chic, smoky makeup is no longer restricted to just females anymore.
Smoky makeup has become the staple of many male idol group members in order to show off a stronger, charismatic image of themselves on stage.
The style has developed far past just simple black eyeliners to include a variety of colors and styles.
One of the first idol groups to use smoky eye makeup is Big Bang. T.O.P’s sexy charisma was emphasized with his thick eyebrows and smoky make up. Taeyang also followed the style while promoting “I Need A Girl” in order to give off the feel of maturity.
The style is also highly effective for Jung Yong Hwa’s signature gazes towards the camera, easily enabling him to capture the audience.
Super Junior’s Lee Teuk and Big Bang’s G Dragon are known pretty boys of the industry for their soft looks. By wearing smoky eye makeup, the two were able to upgrade their manliness by giving off a sharp feel from their eyes.

The style has evolved over the years, the most representative example being Key’s wild style. He matches his eye makeup to the colors of his shirts, a unique look amongst his fellow idol members.
The makeup also gives a deeper edge to Minho’s cute boyish charms, along with giving Onew a more fierce image on stage compared to his innocent, calm features without it.
The members of MBLAQ use the style often when wearing black suits, easily capturing the attention of the audience with their clean, sharp style.

B2ST would have auditioned for ‘Superstar K’ if they did not debut

6-member group B2ST recently confessed during an interview that if they had not debuted under Cube Entertainment, they would have auditioned for ‘Superstar K‘ instead.
The members said, “If we didn’t debut under B2ST, we would have auditioned for ‘Superstar K’… Since we too have experienced trainee days, whenever we watch ‘Superstar K’, it always reminds us of our past. It makes us think back a lot to our trainee days.”
B2ST explained that although their trainee days were psychologically stressful, since they never knew when they were going to debut, they miss being trainees from time to time because of the fun times they had going out on weekends with friends.
The group also complimented on how talented the ‘Superstar K’ contestants were, saying, “All the contestants who were in the top 11 have immense talent. They are so good that sometimes we think about whether we could even get into the top 11 if we auditioned.”
They continued, “There is only one winner, but we hope that all contestants of ‘Superstar K’ are able to achieve their dreams.”
Meanwhile, B2ST made a successful comeback last week with their new track ‘Soom‘, from their 3rd mini-album ‘Mastermind‘.

Girls of ‘Invincible Youth’ talk about past boyfriends and first kisses

f(x)’s leader Victoria recently revealed that she had her first kiss with a guy she dated for two years prior to entering college.
During a recent recording of ‘Invincible Youth’, the members went to help pick grapes with local citizens at a grape farm and also shared stories about their first kiss.
When asked, “When was your first kiss?”, Victoria answered, “Before I became a college student”. SECRET’s Sunhwa replied, “Was it with that guy that you said you dated for two years?“, to which Victoria nodded.
T-ara’s Hyomin also said, “I’ve been embarrassed one time when I went to a movie with my first love.” She continued, “Before we got closer, we went to watch a movie and I accidentally farted. I was so embarrassed that I told my friend to fart as well“, causing everyone to laugh.
Sunhwa added that she also suffered an embarrassing moment with her past boyfriend, saying, “One day I wore a big puffy dress and went to meet my boyfriend on a busy street, but right when the wind blew, my dress flew up as well.”

The heights and weights of girl groups

Girl groups have undergone many changes since they first appeared in the music industry. Formerly known for their fantasy-like and unapproachable image, girl groups these days seem unafraid to bare all, as many are the driving forces behind variety programs. Their witty commentary and honest confessions have earned them countless headlines.
In those cases where they confess, what is the thing that is most often confessed by girl groups?  Well, girl groups almost always confess their height and weight on variety shows, adding and subtracting from reality to fit the situation. Newsen and Sports Seoul recently surveyed the heights and weights of ten girl groups to get a closer look behind the screen.
SNSD, KARA, and f(x) were excluded from the survey, as their information was not listed in portals.

Japanese magazine teaches SNSD’s dances

With Japanese students uploading videos of themselves dancing to SNSD, a Japanese magazine has revealed drawn images of the dance steps to SNSD’s hit tracks “Gee” and “Oh!“.
Characters representing the members were drawn alongside the dance steps, adding to the overall cuteness of the cover. Scans of it were uploaded on various internet community sites, and they have become quite popular amongst the netizens.
Many are proud of SNSD’s role in the “girl group Hallyu” sweeping Japan, and left comments such as, “Seems like SNSD’s popularity is just as hot outside of Korea as well” and “Next, they’re going to write a dissertation on SNSD.”
